Travis Kelce wrote Taylor Swift a letter about how the Eras Tour led to him ā€œmeeting the love of my life.ā€

Swift reads the letter aloud in the final episode of her docuseries, The End of an Era, ahead of her third-to-last show on tour.

Kelce first attended the Eras Tour in Kansas City, Missouri, in July 2023.

Travis Kelce owes a lot to the Eras Tour. After all, it’s where he found his future wife. In the sixth episode of her docuseries, The End of an Era, Taylor Swift receives a heartfelt letter that her now-fiancĆ© Kelce wrote for her ahead of the tour’s final three shows.

Footage shows Swift backstage, holding up a card and reading part of the message aloud:

ā€œSo many unbelievable memories from this tour, but my favorite one is seeing you in concert for the first time, being mesmerized and swept off my feet by a woman who doesn’t even know me. I selfishly say thank you for creating this legendary tour and to Robert [Allen, tour manager] for making you stop through Kansas City, Missouri. That night, too, in KC was the beginning of me meeting the love of my life.ā€

Swift reads the rest of the letter in silence and appears visibly moved. ā€œOh my God,ā€ she says. ā€œSo much for no emotions on the last three shows.ā€

Kelce wasn’t able to be with Swift for her final shows due to his schedule with the Kansas City Chiefs. In fact, the team was playing the L.A. Chargers during Swift’s final concert on Dec. 8, 2024. The End of an Era shows the singer wearing Chiefs gear and watching the game live while rehearsing backstage. After the show, Swift’s dad proudly tells her that the Chiefs won. Although they weren’t together for the milestone, Swift and Kelce still supported each other from afar.

Kelce famously attended the Eras Tour stop in Kansas City in July 2023 and hoped to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. As he later told his brother, Jason Kelce, on their podcast, New Heights, ā€œI was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.ā€

He added, ā€œShe doesn’t meet anybody, and at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took that personal. But it was an unbelievable show, and I’ve only seen Arrowhead filled like that for Chiefs games—with that much excitement. Everybody was dressed in pink and purple, going crazy. It was a wild show.ā€

Two years later, the moment came full circle when Swift appeared as a guest on New Heights to announce her latest album, The Life of Showgirl. ā€œThis podcast got me a boyfriend ever since Travis decided to use it as a personal dating app two years ago,ā€ she joked. Swift also revealed that she had ā€œnever seen the original [friendship bracelet],ā€ teasing Kelce further: ā€œThis dude didn’t get a meet-and-greet, and he’s making it everyone’s problem. He didn’t reach out to management.ā€

Bold as the move may have been, it was undeniably romantic. Swift admitted that ā€œthis is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me ever since I was a teenager.ā€ She added, ā€œIt was wild, but it worked. I’m glad it worked. I’m just circling back to New Heights to say thank you for this.ā€

Kelce later proposed to Swift shortly after they recorded that podcast episode. Of course, she said yes.
