Angela Kinsey is sharing which of her The Office costars made her nearly break character
In a new podcast, the actress noted that most of the actors were constantly in one another's scenes, in the background
As such, she said they had to find ways to entertain themselves during long shoots
Angela Kinsey is sharing one of the behind-the-scenes moments onThe Office that nearly made her break character.
On the Monday, Dec. 22, 2025 episode of the Lay It On With Brad Leone podcast, 54-year-old Kinsey noted that because the show focused on an office, the actors were constantly in one another's scenes, in the background, and had to find ways to entertain themselves during long shoots.
"All of our computers were active so people just, like, paid bills or played solitaire in the background of scenes," she added.
Other times, though, they would have fun with one another.

"Me and Brian [Baumgartner] and Oscar [Nuñez] used to pass notes in the back and Oscar is really great at drawing and he'd draw ridiculous pictures and try to make us laugh," she said. "And he'd just pass me a note very seriously."
One of the drawings, she added, she still has.
"I still have one," Kinsey said. "It's like, my character is sort of dressed as a dominatrix and she's sort of leading Kevin like a dog. Like, the craziest drawings. But he's like, passing me that, in the background of a scene, and I'm trying not to laugh."
Nuñez reprised his role as Dunder Mifflin accountant Oscar Martinez on the spinoff The Paper, which premiered in September 2025.
Kinsey, meanwhile, reflected on the series’ 20th anniversary earlier this year, revealing that she kept a journal she’d titled “Office Early Days,” which years ago, she'd filled with her thoughts about filming the show.
“I wrote ‘first day of shooting of The Office.’ That's in blue ink,”Kisney said on the March 26 episode of the Office Ladies podcast, which she co-hosts with Jenna Fischer.
“Next line is in black ink. ‘This is the best job ever.’ Next line is in red ink. ‘I have all of these pens on my desk, so I'm trying them all out,’ ” she said as both she and Fischer laughed.
