Teyana Taylor has made her Saturday Night Live debut — and so have her little ones!

During her opening monologue on SNL, the One Battle After Another actress, 35, enlisted the help of her daughters — Rue Rose, 5, and Iman "Junie" Tayla, 10 — to poke fun at a reality that all parents know too well: kids being engrossed in their cell phones.

"Man, I really, really love my kids so much, so I bring them everywhere with me. I ain't even gonna front," she began. "When I was giving my speech at the Golden Globes, I looked up to see my babies — I wanted to see their faces, you know — just to see that they were scrolling on their phones. So I'm like, 'This is so amazing. Get off them phones. What an honor. Get off them phones.'"

"But for real, I feel so lucky. I've worked so hard throughout my career to get to this point, and I'm just so grateful to be here with my babies cheering me on," she continued, before the camera panned to see her daughters scrolling on their phones.

Taylor concluded her monologue, closing out the joke and telling her children to "get off your phones."

With all her major wins so far this award season, it's no secret that she's making her kids proud in more ways than one.

This awards season, she's earned a Critics Choice Awards nomination and scored a Golden Globe win for her role in One Battle After Another. She also made headlines for her role in Ryan Murphy's All's Fair.

During her emotional acceptance speech at the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 11, Taylor gave a shoutout to her kids, who she said were "upstairs watching," as she quipped, "Y'all better be off those damn phones and watching me right now."

Taylor shares her daughters with ex-husband Iman Shumpert. While speaking to Vanity Fair for a recent profile, the actress shared a glimpse into her co-parenting relationship dynamics with the former NBA player, 35, since divorcing in 2024.

“Divorce, to me, is you’re grieving the death of a living being,” Taylor explained to the outlet. “I think once children are involved, you understand the importance of really still having to show up for each other.”

“At least for the next 18 years, and being the best co-parents that we can be,” she continued, noting that she doesn't “want people to start feeling scared of marriage, because marriage is a beautiful thing.”

The “Gonna Love Me” singer announced that she and Shumpert had been separated following seven years of marriage in September 2023.

“In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while,” Taylor wrote on Instagram at the time. “To be 1000% clear, ‘infidelity’ ain’t one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children.”

“Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married, we ain’t ever played with or about THAT,” she added.
