Rebecca Gayheart and her daughters presented a united front during their first public appearance since the death of Eric Dane last month.

The 54-year-old actress and the couple's daughters, Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14, attended the premiere of A24's upcoming dark comedy *The Drama* Tuesday in Los Angeles. It marks their first public outing since Dane's death on Feb. 19 at 53, approximately 10 months after the *Grey's Anatomy* star publicly announced his ALS diagnosis.

Gayheart and Dane wed in 2004, and they welcomed Billie and Georgia in 2010 and 2011, respectively. The actress had filed for divorce in 2018, citing irreconcilable differences. However, she filed to have the divorce dismissed in March 2025, just weeks before Dane made his diagnosis public.

In the months before Dane's passing, Gayheart opened up about the difficulty of their situation, sharing how "super complicated" her relationship with her estranged husband was amid his diagnosis, and that, despite them being separated for eight years, she wanted to show their daughters "that we show up for people no matter what."

"And he is our family, he is your father," Gayheart said during a November appearance on the podcast *Broad Ideas With Rachel Bilson & Olivia Allen*. "We show up and we try to do it with some dignity and some grace and just get through it, and that we will get through it the best we can."

"The kids live with me 100 percent of the time. And there's been lots of just stuff, other stuff," the *Jawbreaker* star explained. "I try to stay optimistic, though, about it all. I'm trying to learn from it and [be a] role model for them [for] how to go through something like this, which is really hard."

Gayheart added, "I don't know if I'm doing it well or if I'm doing it in the wrong way or the right way. I'm just showing up. I'm showing up, and I'm trying to be there for them. I guess time will tell."
