Fans are getting a glimpse at Pete Davidson's tattoo-removal process, as his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, shared a shirtless pic of the comedian cuddled up with their newborn daughter.

In a post shared to Instagram on Sunday, Dec. 22, Hewitt, 29, snapped a shot of Davidson, 32, holding their daughter, Scottie.

The Saturday Night Live alum could be seen enjoying some skin-to-skin contact with his baby girl, cradling her as she was wrapped in a pink blanket. Another photo in the carousel showed Hewitt looking at the camera as she held the newborn while wearing a cozy black sweater.

“MY BEST FRIENDS🩷🩷🩷,” Hewitt captioned the sweet pictures.

Davidson has been candid about the gradual removal of his 200 tattoos.

In an April feature with Variety, the comedian revealed that focusing on his mental health after several stints in rehab led him to the removal of his body ink, as the tattoos remind him of a “sad person that was very unsure.”

“I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up,” Davidson told the outlet. “So I’m just removing them and starting fresh, because that’s what I think works best for me and for my brain."

One of the actor's first times showing off his tattoo-free torso came during Reformation's "official boyfriend" Valentine's Day campaign, when modeling sweatpants for the brand and some convincing body makeup. The campaign marked the first time that Davidson showed off his body since embarking on his $200,000 ink-removal journey in 2020.

Davidson has to plan his sessions "between work because it’s a six-week healing process each time you get one removed." He explained to Variety that one tattoo removal is 10 to 12 sessions and totals 60 weeks: "It’s gonna take me another 10 years."

"It’s pretty horrible. It’s like putting your arm on a grill and burning off a layer, and then you gotta do maintenance and let it heal properly," the Bupkis actor added. "And it’s pretty tough. It sucks, I’m not gonna lie."

As for their newborn, the couple welcomed their first baby, a girl named Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, sharing the news on Thursday, Dec. 18, on Hewitt's Instagram page. Scottie was born on Dec. 12.

"my best work yet, i am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief," Hewitt captioned the post, which featured a photo of the couple holding their newborn.

"wu tang forever," Davidson added in the caption.

The post included several other intimate photos of the comedian and the model with their baby. The couple kept Scottie's face private by putting a white heart emoji over her face in each photo.

Hewitt has since been candid about welcoming her first child. Over the weekend, she shared a series of sweet Instagram Stories posts asking other new moms if they also shared similar feelings to her soon after giving birth.

The model asked if her mom followers also "stare at your baby and cry at how much you love them and can't believe it's yours and that your body made this perfect thing."

She also shared a still from the children's TV show Blue's Clues, comparing herself and Davidson to Salt and Pepper, welcoming their baby Paprika.

"me pete and scottie," she wrote.

A source previously told PEOPLE that the comedian and his model girlfriend are finding their footing in the week after Hewitt had her wisdom tooth extracted just one day after giving birth to Scottie Rose.

"Elsie is doing really well now and feeling so much better since having the tooth taken care of," the insider said. "It was an unexpected hiccup right after the delivery, but she handled it like a champ and has been focused on resting and soaking in these first moments with the baby."

"Being home has been really special for them," the source continued. "They're settling into a rhythm, taking everything day by day and just enjoying getting to know their daughter. It's been a lot of firsts, but it's a really happy, exciting time for both of them."
