Instead of another big-name pairing, the new report suggested the Oscar winner could eventually end up with someone outside Hollywood. That angle arrived as separate rumors linked the “Moulin Rouge!” star to MGM executive Paul Salem and revived talk around her easy chemistry with “Scarpetta” co-star Simon Baker.

As per the Daily Mail, the conversation about Nicole Kidman’s dating life shifted toward privacy, not spectacle. The outlet said, “Nicole isn’t necessarily focused on finding a man or dating. It wouldn’t be surprising to see her with someone not famous, though.” That note fit the mood after her solo Oscars run and busy production schedule. At the same time, the remark landed months after her divorce from Keith Urban was finalized in January, ending their 19-year marriage.

MGM Resorts chairman Paul Salem was “romantically pursuing” the actress, and insiders said it was “fair to say Paul is interested.” Salem, meanwhile, sat at the center of rumor coverage because of mutual friends and two group meetings. Even so, those same reports said there had been “no one-on-one hangouts yet.” Another source added Kidman was “not interested in a new relationship right now anyway.” So, although the rumor-fed post-divorce chatter, the reporting still pointed back to caution, not a confirmed shift.
Then, on March 18, Simon Baker’s talk added another layer to the Nicole Kidman dating watch. Discussing “Scarpetta,” Baker said their onscreen kiss felt “strange,” adding, “I think the first time we did it, we both sort of went, ‘Okay, whatever.’” The Oscar winner quickly softened that reading. “We’ve kissed on the cheek before. We’ve hugged a lot,” she also added, “We’ve lived in the same house.” Still, that exchange mostly underlined long familiarity, not romance. For now, her schedule stayed full with “Scarpetta” and “Practical Magic 2.”
