Kristen Bell reacts to rumored $60 million salary for “Frozen” sequels

Kristen Bell won't reveal how much she was paid to build a snowman as Frozen's Anna — but she will shut down the internet's wild estimates.

While walking the red carpet ahead of her latest gig as host of the 2026 Actor Awards, Bell denied recent reports claiming that she earned $60 million to reprise her voice role in the upcoming Disney sequels, Frozen 3 and Frozen 4.

"I think there’s been a lot misreported about that Frozen deal" Bell told Entertainment Tonight, alluding to the eye-watering number. "No, no, no, no, no that’s somebody making a lot of things up."

The hefty figure emerged last November, following a report from TheWrap claiming that Bell and her costars, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad, were each paid $60 million for the two sequels, for a combined $180 million.

Though Bell didn't disclose her salary for the films, she also didn't deny that she has been well-compensated thanks to the worldwide phenomenon that Frozen has become.

"Am I happy to have that job and does it pay very well because it’s a successful franchise? Yes," Bell told the outlet. "And I’m so grateful for it, and I will continue to do it for the rest of my life if they’ll have me."

Afterwards, the actress couldn't help but take one more jab at the pay reports, quipping, "Didn’t it sound absurd when you read it? When I read it, I was like, 'Woah, woah, what!'"

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to Walt Disney Studios for comment.

Frozen has indeed become one of Disney's biggest success stories. The original 2013 film was a $1.3 billion blockbuster success that not only won two Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, but injected the catchy tune of "Let It Go" into the cultural zeitgeist. The film has since spawned a billion-dollar sequel, a Broadway stage musical, theme park attractions, and more — not to mention all the merch featuring Bell’s Anna, Menzel’s Elsa, and Gad’s Olaf.

In 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Disney has plans to keep the success going with Frozen 3, which is slated to hit theaters on November 24, 2027. That same year, Iger hinted that three movies wouldn't be enough, telling GMA, “Frozen 3 is in the works and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works, too."

While millions of kids are eagerly awaiting their next glimpse of Elsa and Anna, Bell has joked that her daughters are basically immune to the movie's charms.

"They certainly appreciate it in the fact that they can go to college because of it, but they're not part of the Frozen phenomenon," she joked back in 2024. "Kids are meant to make you feel grounded, and they're meant to reject things that their parents are involved in. Even if they secretly liked it a lot, they would never tell me."
