Katherine LaNasa has earned critical acclaim for her on-screen portrayal of the tough and world-weary yet compassionate charge nurse, Dana Evans, and in real life, she’s just as nurturing to her two kids, Henry and Eloise.
The Emmy-winning actress became a mom for the first time at the age of 23. At the time, she was married to her first husband, the late actor Dennis Hopper, and the pair welcomed their son, Henry Hopper, in 1990, one year after they wed. They divorced in 1992 following three years of marriage.
Two decades later, LaNasa married her third husband, Grant Show, in August 2012. In March 2014, their daughter, Eloise Show, was born.
“I have children that are 24 years apart in age and so, I feel like I’ve just been mothering my whole life,” the actress told in January 2026.

LaNasa welcomed her first child, son Henry Lee Hopper, on Sept. 11, 1990, with then-husband Hopper.
Henry grew up in Los Angeles and formed a close bond with his father, whom he described as “an equal” and a mentor.
“He’s always treated me like an equal, never an authority figure,” Henry said of his father in a 2008 interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I relate to him like a friend who’s been around 50 or 60 years more than me.”
Following in his parents’ footsteps, Henry also became an actor, making his on-screen debut at the age of 6 in the film Kiss and Tell. “I was raised to value creativity and being myself,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “Through my family and their friends, I got a real education in what it’s like to be alive.”

Still, he was hesitant to pursue a career in the industry. “I’ve seen how the business aspect can drag you through a lot of s---,” he said.
After high school, Henry studied painting and sculpture at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) for a year before dropping out. “I sort of fell out with the idea of art school,” he told Interview Magazine in 2010.
Instead, he moved to Berlin for a period of time before returning to Venice, Calif., where he continued making art and acting.
In 2012, a minor sued Henry, accusing him of sexually assaulting her. Henry denied the allegations. In a statement to New York Daily News, his lawyer stated that “the true facts and circumstances” would “vindicate” the young actor. The parties settled for an undisclosed amount in 2013.
Since then, Henry has continued acting but has largely remained out of the spotlight. He keeps his social media private, but LaNasa frequently posts about him on her own accounts.
In 2023, the actress shared an Instagram tribute to her older child. “NUMBER 1 ☀️Big brother, overall excellent family member extraordinaire! We love you Henry!!” she wrote alongside a carousel of photos. “HAPPY NATIONAL SON'S DAY!”

LaNasa and Show welcomed their daughter, Eloise McCue Show, on March 25, 2014, weighing 6 lbs., 3 oz. LaNasa shared the happy news on Instagram a few days later. “Welcome to the world #BabyEloise!” she wrote alongside an image of her newborn baby’s feet with a hospital ID bracelet. “I love you my Darling.”
During a joint interview with Show on the Home & Family Show, LaNasa spoke about having another baby later in life, saying that they were "lucky" to be able to get pregnant with the help of "science" and that she found motherhood in her 40s to be a deeply rewarding experience.
“Doing it now as opposed to doing it before is that I really appreciate her. I don't think I could appreciate my son when I was 23,” she said. “I feel so patient and I have such a perspective on life that I just find it so beautiful.”

Still, the actress has been open about the difficulty of having what’s considered a geriatric pregnancy.
“The one thing that was really hard was [the doctors] wanting to give me a C-section right away. They wanted to plan a C-section. Because of my age, they were worried,” she told Yahoo Life in June 2025. “I wanted to push back a lot. I didn't want to incise my body if I didn't have to. If I had needed one, I definitely would have, but I didn't want to plan for it months early just because I was 47.”
Whether or not Eloise will follow in the acting footsteps of her parents and older brother remains to be seen, but she has already made her own on-screen appearance in a subtle way in The Pitt.
“There's a picture of [Dana's] granddaughter on her desk. It's my actual daughter, but she should be my granddaughter,” LaNasa told Collider in April 2025. “I said I wanted those family pictures there."
