James Marsden is sharing some insider details on his celebrity fantasy football league.

During his Monday, March 23, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote his new Hulu movie Mike and Nick and Nick and Alice, Jimmy Kimmel noted that Marsden, 52, and Jon Hamm, 55, play fantasy football together, prompting the Paradise star to open up about the group.

Kimmel, 58, asked the actor to share what other celebrities compete in their league, to which he responded, "Am I allowed to? Basically, the entire Marvel roster." The roster includes Marsden himself, as he will reprise his role as the X-Men character Cyclops in this December's Avengers: Doomsday for the first time since 2014's X-Men movie Days of Future Past.

Marsden noted that Chris Evans, 44, invited him to join the fantasy football league "about 12 years" ago and that the league has grown significantly since then.

"We always say these high numbers for the buy-in, but no one ever really pays. It's more about what we do for the loser, what happens to him," he said of the league's competitors.

"I can't say. That is the truth!" Marsden added, with a laugh, when Kimmel asked him to define their punishment for the league's last-place team each year. "That is the truth. [It's] pretty bad."

Marsden continued to laugh as Kimmel grilled him on whether any famous actors have found themselves on the losing end of the league over the years. "This is like a polygraph," he joked. "Who was it last year? I think Joel McHale — he's going to hate me for that now. I'm being coy. It's a collective consensus that we vote on."

"Chris is very good. Chris is very good," Marsden said of Evans' fantasy football skills. "I won two years in a row and got second two years ago, but this was a couple years ago."

When Kimmel asked Marsden if he is the best player in the league, Marsden responded, "I'm the one with the most time on his hands. It is a colossal waste of time and they're busy."

Over the years, Marvel Cinematic Universe actors like Paul Rudd, Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth have noted their experience competing in a league with Evans together. Back in 2020, 14 MCU stars (not including Marsden) also competed in a fantasy football league founded by Avengers: Endgame director Joe Russo for charity, which Pratt famously won.
