Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci in 'Home Alone'

Daniel Stern is tapping into his artistic skills to immortalize his acting career.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE published on Wednesday, the Home Alone star revealed that the new owners of the Chicago house featured in the film commissioned him to sculpt a replica of his iconic tarantula scene for display.

"I'm creating a sculpture of me and the spider; which is gonna be kind of crazy," Stern told the outlet. "It'll be at the Home Alone house so that spider whatever his name was — 'Charlie' — is being immortalized in bronze."

Stern — who is now a artist and farmer living on a ranch in California — played Marv, half of the Wet Bandits alongside Joe Pesci's Harry in the classic holiday film. The unlucky duo attempt to rob the home of Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin), an 8-year-old boy accidentally left behind by his family upon their holiday vacation to Paris. But the burglary team is no match against the creatively devised antics of Kevin, which results in them getting caught by many of his outrageous traps.

As Stern explained, the piece will focus on the scene in which the criminal pair almost catch Kevin, only for him to escape and render them scared out of them minds by dropping a tarantula on Marv's face. The sculpture will show Stern, mid-blood-curdling scream as the spider lands on his face. The actor quipped that the move was "an homage to the woman in Psycho in the shower."

"It's been fun though," Stern shared. "It's been really fun and you know it was so sweet to think of it. I mean it'll be done in a couple of months, but it's so sweet to think of it in that house — these folks love that house so much and love the movie so much."He quipped: "I've made myself a lot handsomer than I actually am in real life."

The sprawling suburban mansion that served as the McCallister family house looks much different now than it did on screen. The former owners of the home, John Abendshien, his then-wife Cynthia Demps, and their daughter Lauren, stayed in the house for more than two decades before selling it in 2012 to Tim and Trisha Johnson for around $1.6 million.

The Johnsons gave it a huge makeover in 2018 before they put the house back on the market in May 2024 with an asking price of $5.25 million. It sold in less than a week.

The new owners have decided to keep their identities private, but Stern told PEOPLE that he hopes to be able to see his piece on display in person after sending it their way.

"They might have like an unveiling or something.... it would be crazy to be in [the house.] That house is like a tourist attraction," Stern said.

Home Alone is currently available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu.
