Comedians Tom Segura and Christina Pazsitzky are kicking off the new year in paradise, whether they like it or not.
On Wednesday, the married couple and hosts of the Your Mom's House podcast shared a video update with fans, letting everyone know that they've spent the past few days unable to leave the Caribbean amid the U.S. military operations taking place in Venezuela.
"We are stuck in the Caribbean," Segura announced in the Instagram video. "Do you remember how [the U.S.] went in and we captured Maduro in Venezuela and he's being brought to justice in New York? They've shut down a lotta airspace so we spent days here."
The couple then pretended to cry, acknowledging that they are at least stuck in an idyllic situation before offering a few more details about their delayed departure.
"We can't go home. We've been stuck for extra days," Segura continued. "Airspace becomes opened and then closed. It's fun."

In the early morning hours of Jan. 3, President Donald Trump oversaw strikes on Venezuelan soil in a proposed invasion of the South American nation. He later announced that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, had been taken into U.S. custody following an overnight military operation. They now face charges including narco-terrorism conspiracy and use of destructive devices against the United States.
Amid the operation, U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy closed airspace around Venezuela, leaving thousands of civilians unable to travel into or out of the country. Duffy eventually lifted the Caribbean airspace ban at midnight Eastern time on Sunday, but during that period, major U.S. air carriers — including Southwest, JetBlue, United, Delta, and American — canceled hundreds of flights. The following days have seen airlines struggling with delays and scrambling to add additional flights in order to accommodate affected customers.
"I'll tell you the fun part is that you go to the airport and they tell you, 'You're gonna leave now' and then they go, 'Just kidding, you're not,'" Segura quipped in the video. "Every day is just a mystery. Will we get home?"
Pazsitzky then interjected, "But we're still doing our thing and stuff like that and trying not to get a DUI. We're doing it all. Anyway, Happy New Year, we love you and we will see you next week."

Segura and Pazsitzky are not the only stars who have been inconvenienced by the ongoing operation. Earlier this week, Leonardo DiCaprio was unable to accept the Desert Palm Achievement Award at Sunday's Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala due to travel restrictions. DiCaprio was unable to leave the coast of St. Barts — where he was photographed vacationing with friends Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez — because of the developing geopolitical situation. Similarly, stars including Natalie Portman, Queen Latifah, and Mike Tyson were reportedly unable to leave the island following New Year's festivities.
