Dearest gentle reader, are you ready for a glimpse at Bridgerton season 4?

On Thursday, Dec. 25, the official Instagram account for Shondaland, the creator of Bridgerton, surprised fans by announcing that the official trailer for the hit show was now available.

In the clip, which was announced during the Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders game, Luke Thompson appears as his Bridgerton character Benedict and finds he has a "sports sanctuary."

"I know today is filled with roughhousing, shouting, and the finest of chicken meats, dowsed in a seasoning sauce from a region known as... Buffalo? Buffalo," he says, as he tosses a football in his hand. "I have a surprise for you. In the spirit of gift giving, please enjoy a sneak peek at Bridgerton season 4."

In the caption section, the post read, "Although it would seem even Mr. Bridgerton cannot resist the temptation of today's games, it is time to direct your attention to more... civilized matters. The trailer for part 1 of Bridgerton season 4 is here."

The official trailer offers fans an inside look at the love — and chaos — the Bridgerton family has in store for season 4.

"For the season's most notorious gentleman, Benedict Bridgerton, he must bow to that most powerful of forces, mothers," Lady Whistledown, voiced by Julie Andrews, says in the trailer.

Violet Bridgerton tells her son: "You simply must marry. You have not met the right young lady." However, a reluctant Benedict insists he's charting a "more venturesome course."

The trailer then shifts to Yerin Ha as her character Sophie Baek, a maid, who wants to enjoy "one glorious night" at a masquerade ball.

In true Cinderella style, Ha goes incognito and meets Thompson's character at the ball. There, he tells her she's "the most intriguing person I've ever met" — yet she runs away without revealing her identity.

For the remainder of the trailer, Benedict embarks on a quest to find his mystery woman while Baek contemplates if she should reveal her true identity.

As shown in the trailer, Bridgerton season 4 focuses on the unraveling of Benedict's love story and follows the third book in the Bridgerton book series, An Offer from a Gentleman.

In February of this year, Ha told PEOPLE that she and Thompson "work so well together."

She continued, "I think we've just bonded. We just try to focus on the story and truly accepting each other for who we are — both character-wise and as people — and I think that has helped with the chemistry."

Part 1 of Bridgerton season 4 premieres on Jan. 29, while part 2 premieres on Feb. 26.
