A colossal winter storm has swept across the United States over the weekend, from Texas to New England.
By Monday, Jan. 26, the storm had caused travel disruptions and nearly shut down cities after dumping snow, sleet and freezing rain. At least 14 people have been killed, and hundreds of thousands remain without power.

The videos show the aftermath of Brooklyn, New York, Greenwood, Indiana, Reston, Virginia, and Columbus, Ohio, once the snow settled in place.

Snow blankets other parts of the US
In Boston, residents had received 15 inches of snow as of 10 p.m. local time on Jan. 25, and about 9 inches were recorded in Washington, DC, by 7 p.m. local time on Jan. 25. Additionally, 11.4 inches of snow had fallen in Central Park as of midnight on Jan. 26.
The National Weather Service had forecast snow from the Ohio Valley to the Northeast, with 18 inches expected.
Many areas are also dealing with advisories, warnings and watches, and are under states of emergency.
The impacts of the snow are expected to affect infrastructure and transportation throughout the week.
