Fishbone is celebrating a career-defining milestone, marking their decades-long music as a ska-rock band.

Having cemented its name on the music scene, the “Everyday Sunshine” hitmaker is reflecting on its early years and the fearless sound that put it on the map.

Formed in 1979 in Los Angeles, California, the iconic band introduced a genre-bending fusion of ska, punk, funk, rock, metal and soul that set them apart from the mainstream and built their unique identity.

Decades later, they are celebrating 40 years since the release of their debut album, In Your Face, in 1986.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Fishbone is gearing up for an upcoming tour, covering major cities and states in the U.S.

In a post shared on their official Instagram, the 40-year anniversary album play tour will kick off in San Francisco this April, before wrapping up in Pomona, California.

Moreover, the band is hopeful that the series of shows will be a success, as they hope to stage similar tours in the future.

“We are so excited and pleased to announce the 40 Year Anniversary Album Play tour of In Your Face… That’s right, we’ll be out there in April and May playing In Your Face front to back, followed by another set of your favorites… this will be the first time we’ve done anything like this (and if all goes well, won’t be the last), so we want to see you there. Tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow (January 16th) at 12pm EST. Links to all shows can be found in our Linktree as well as all the club sites… you ask how you can support bands? Come see us live… this will not be just a show. This will be an event… see you there!” the caption reads.
